Kebbi police Commissioner, Mr. Bello Sani has in Thursday presents cheques worth N5.82 million to the families of slain officers who died in line of duty to support education and financial needs of deceased officers.
Mr Sani, who presented the cheques to the affected families, said the gesture was in accordance with the directive of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.
According to him, “It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Police Headquarters, Birnin Kebbi, to witness the presentation of IGP Group Life Assurance Scheme cheques amounting to the sum of N5,847,268.50 to the families of four deceased police officers, who died in the active service of our fatherland.”
“The IGP’s kind gesture and magnanimity is not compensation for the lives of the officers lost, but it was aimed at supporting their families as well as boosting the morale of the serving ones to do more in fighting crimes in the state.”
“At this juncture, I want to advise you to judiciously utilise the token in pursuing your academic careers and other financial needs".
