The All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kebbi State has condemned what it called unguided criticism of APC government in the State, calling it an outright none issue driven.
The Ag. Chairman of the Party, Alhaji Adamu Mudi Augie while addressing a Press conference on Friday at its party Secretariat in Birnin-Kebbi, expressed that ADC and its Governorship candidate, Abubarka Chika Malami are just trying to buy sympathy from the people, knowing fully well that the entire State belong to the APC.
Alhaji Augie stated that the season of politics has arrived. Electioneering has begun in earnest, and every kind of actor has rushed onto the stage, including those still answering serious questions in court over alleged large-scale corruption and the conversion of public funds.
"What we did not expect was that a party so closely associated with Abubakar Malami would have the nerve to lecture anyone on probity, accountability or financial management - let alone to accuse a sitting government of mis-managing public resources."
"It is remarkable that the first major press briefing called by the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kebbi State, has devoted almost entirely to state finances and the question of where the money went? That question is asked in a state now dotted with roads, schools, hospitals, housing estates, irrigation support and other people-oriented projects on a scale Kebbi has not seen in a generation."
The Ag. Chairman pointed out that it is an insult to the intelligence of the people of Kebbi State, who know what the state looked like before 29th May, 2023 and what it looks like today, the people are not blind, they can see where public money has gone Under Governor Nasir Idris.
Virtually every sector has been touched On roads and urban renewal, on education, hundreds of primary and secondary schools have been rehabilitated and new ones built. Mega boarding schools focused on science and skills have been established in Birnin Kebbi, Argungu, Yauri and Zuru. More than a million textbooks have been procured.
Over 2,000 teachers have been recruited. The College of Nursing Sciences and related tertiary institutions have received renewed attention, furniture, ICT support and institutional backing and a new College of Midwifery Sciences Ambursa.
On health, 30 general hospitals and primary healthcare centres across the state have been renovated and upgraded. Additional general hospitals have also been constructed where they are direly need but were absent. More Healthcare facilities in Kambaza, Suru, Kamba, Dirin-Daji, Kangiwa, Koko, Yauri and elsewhere, complementing earlier work at Argungu, Zuru, Sir Yahaya Memorial Hospital and other sites.
Thousands of health workers have been recruited. Ambulances and equipment have been supplied. The administration has set itself the goal of bringing standard care within reach of communities that once had to travel far for basic treatment.
On housing, the 250-unit Kauran Gwandu Housing Estate in Birnín Kebbi is advancing toward completion, with the Governor inspecting progress and directing that similar schemes serve state and local government workers, teachers and other residents. Additional federal housing stock has been acquired for completion.
On agriculture and livelihoods, the government has supported farmers with free Inputs, fertilizer, seeds and water-pumping machines, including large-scale distribution of solar-powered pumps under the Kaura Agricultural Development and Growth Agenda. Irrigation and dry-season farming have expanded. Workers have seen the new minimum wage implemented, pensions and inherited liabilities addressed, and casualization completely erased. It is Important to highlight the fact that the Kauran Gwandu administration is not owing on salaries, pension, gratuity and even death benefits. It should also be noted that all these Impactful projects ware executed without a dime being borrowed from any quarter.
